Entelec's 2022 lookback

December 20, 2022

How will 2023 look like?

2022 has indeed been a year of success within Entelec. There has been a milestone, a new product feature, some inspiring new projects and a bunch of super-qualified new team members. Sit back and enjoy with us this recap of this exciting year.

Entelec’s 30th-anniversary celebration

If Entelec was a human being, you would start seeing some wrinkles by now. But that is not the case. Thanks to outstanding R&D activities that lead to world-class product development, Entelec is still in its vibrant years. And we tend to keep it that way. Our 30th-anniversary celebration to Malaga will undoubtedly have given our team members the wind to keep providing the best of themselves.

This anniversary and its Vacation Celebration to Malaga were both a celebration and the start of a new era. Our newest Sky-Walker product feature the Incident Manager Web Application set the tone for what will be an era of changes in the world of safety and security management.

The Incident Manager Web Application Prototype

As discussed above, we set the tone in this new era with a new product feature of our Open Integration Software Sky-Walker. The Incident Manager is still a prototype in development, but it already has the capacity to change your control room in a way you could never have imagined. A control room usually radiates stress because of its major responsibility. But also because of the chaotic situations when major incidents occur. When a big fire is detected in a shopping centre or a suspicious visitor at the airport, many bells start to ring. And that should be! There is a lot to do: view the cameras of the incident location, stay in contact with on-field security members, call emergency services, start evacuation procedures,…

All these actions rely on different tools and software. A big man capacity is needed to make sure every safety and security issue can be handled and therefore these employees should have been trained to work with all the different software tools. With Sky-Walker, this problem has been reduced dramatically. Only one interface, only one software education, fewer employees and faster safety management. What more could a control room operator ask for? World-class incident management! Thanks to our Incident Manager Web App, pre-designed automated workflows will be triggered when an event occurs. That way, a safety manager can handle every safety or security incident in no time. Your safety level increases once more and your control room is at ease. This provides them with an opportunity to do their work fully focused on the solution for the specific incident instead of the cooperation between different software tools with many team members.

Sky-Walker product description

Jumbo

Back in 2018, we signed a contract with the Dutch retail chain Jumbo. As one of the Netherlands’ largest supermarket chains, acquiring this customer was a major win in the Benelux market. This year, Jumbo decided to integrate Sky-Walker in all their processes.

The main extension in this cooperation is the implementation of Jumbo’s inbound and outbound processes in our Open Integration Software Sky-Walker. By automating order picking in their warehouses, the supermarket chain will be able to optimise the quality of the logistic processes. But it is not a simple task to achieve. New systems will be acquired and that needs to be monitored altogether with the already existing workflow. Sky-Walker will be the supervision software that will make sure all of the sub-systems are integrated into one interface in order to enable a central approach to the monitoring of the Jumbo supply chain.

This proves Jumbo’s trust in our software and our company and provides an opportunity to enforce this long-term relationship with focus on the improvement of Jumbo’s processes as well as Sky-Walker’s scope. As one of our biggest customer projects, our development team welcomes this implementation as a chance to learn and optimise our software.

For Jumbo, this does not only mean that their internal processes will improve. This integration improves Jumbo’s entire supply chain and will lead to huge cost reductions, optimized supply chain management, increased customer satisfaction, and so much more.

Miet Loix – An example for every Entelec employee

And not only for our team members, since she has been awarded for the third time in her career. She was privileged to achieve two Livia awards in her career. It is a prestigious award for women who had an impact on business and tend to be a leading example for other women trying to start their own businesses. This year though, Miet Loix was awarded by InspiringFifty, a company that awards the 50 most inspiring women in tech in a specific country. This year, we are proud to announce that Entelec’s CEO has been awarded one of those 50 women that lead tech businesses, a branch mostly dominated by men.
