Enhancing the Comfort of Your Facilities with PSIM

September 28, 2023

Introduction

These days, companies face a major challenge! To provide comfort in their buildings, stores, factories, warehouses... to create a sense of well-being for occupants and to ensure good safety conditions. This involves the installation and optimization of comfort systems and technologies such as HVAC (heating, ventilation, air conditioning), energy, and lighting. It also means being able to simultaneously manage these systems through a single software, and that's what you'll discover in this article.

What comfort systems and technologies are installed within the facilities?

1) HVAC

HVAC is a system composed of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning components. Its purpose is to properly circulate air within buildings, to heat and cool entire areas or parts of a building, and to ensure a high level of safety. It also allows for maintaining an ideal temperature, adjusting humidity levels, and managing air quality.

Since the HVAC system consists of multiple subsystems, several technologies make up this system. For example, you can find boilers, condensers, heat pumps, humidifiers, and more.

Many companies have HVAC systems in their facilities but often fail to optimize them. This means they have the technologies in place but do not attempt to centralize all the data or perform preventive maintenance on equipment and systems.

This can be achieved by using a solution that you will discover later on!

2) Energy

Energy, on the other hand, is a system that aims to optimize the energy consumption of a facility, which can be a building, a warehouse, a factory, or even just a room or a floor! The energy system primarily includes an energy meter that measures the energy consumption of a facility.

Similar to the HVAC system, companies have systems in place to manage energy consumption, but they often do not optimize these systems.

How can a company do this?

Companies can reduce their consumption and manage flows through software, which can be operated by personnel using the software.

3) Lighting

Another system that companies can manage and optimize in their daily operations is the lighting system. Electricity consumption (just like energy consumption) has become a priority for most businesses. Indeed, electricity represents a certain cost for companies, and the goal for a company with a lighting system is to manage the flow of electricity in a room, an area, or the entire infrastructure.

To optimize electricity consumption, companies can turn on/off lighting flows through a single platform. They can also remotely program lighting and generate consumption reports.

Which solution allows for managing all these systems and technologies?

PSIM as a whole is the new solution that enables the simultaneous management of all these systems! Indeed, companies can use hypervision software to connect and integrate all HVAC, energy, and lighting systems into a single platform. Additionally, all equipment within these systems can be connected to the various systems and made visible through icons on the platform.

Furthermore, you can generate detailed reports on your systems, such as a building's energy consumption or the temperature level of a room, in order to optimize the systems and implement precise automation actions.
