Why is Entelec investing time on a B2B social media strategy?

September 30, 2021

If you are following us on our different social media – LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter - platforms, you may have noticed that in the past few months, we have been strengthening our online presence. As a B2B company active in the security and safety management market, social media might not seem like the most relevant platform to communicate on. However, many other B2B corporate organizations have invested in such communication strategy and have witnessed great results from it. If you doubt this strategic decision, here are the reasons why any B2B company should invest in community management and content creation.

1. Company identity

Through an Instagram feed or LinkedIn posts, a lot can be communicated regarding who you are as a company. The color, the design, the kind of content shared, are all indicators of a company’s identity. Social media allow sharing such identity which might be already experienced by your customers, but not by the potential ones.

Take a look at Entelec’s Instagram feed for instance.

On there, our company has decided to post a combination of content that tackles our identity, our activities as a company, what we offer as PSIM experts, relevant information about the market we are active in, and many more. All of these are published following consistent design guidelines which convey a fresh, structured, and dynamic image. Throughout the feed, it is also possible to fairly easily notice our company’s brand color.

2. Company culture

No companies work the same. No companies entertain the same relationship with their employees. It is what makes each of them so unique. However, from a general perspective, every company has created over time some sort of very specific culture that can manifest itself on various levels. Corporate culture is, therefore, a great topic to be displayed on social media. Show your uniqueness to your audience.

In that spirit, we, at Entelec, recently promoted our corporate culture by creating posts regarding our values, our quarterly meeting held in Belgium, and even one of our very appreciated software developers.

3. Show your skills

Social media also allows showing your proficiency level in various areas. Whether it is a skill that your company has or a certificate that you have been recently granted, all are valid reasons to be proud of your accomplishments and to share them. For instance, Entelec holds both ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 certifications which guarantee quality management and security information skills. We shared the news through an explanatory blog post across our social media platforms. On LinkedIn, our blog post has even been shared by the organization which granted us the certification.

4. Nurture relationships

Another very distinctive asset of social media platforms is how direct contact can be between people and companies. Whether it is to show support, to ask a question, or to simply give some kind of feedback, there is no more direct way to do it than by sending a DM or commenting underneath a post. Therefore, always reply to any comment you got because if it matters to your audience, it should matter to you too.

5. Referral traffic

Another advantage to social media reference is the generation of referral traffic to your website. As a B2B business, website traffic is crucial in the creation of potential customer relationships. Social media platforms allow to always refer to a company’s main website in order more detailed information. Therefore, traffic generated from social media is most of the time quality traffic as the visitors already encountered the content on another medium.

In conclusion, before giving up on the idea of posting on social media, keep in mind that nowadays, rare are the people who do not have any sort of social media activity. Therefore, even though you might not think that your audience is present on those platforms, they might just be. You just need to find a way to reach them.
